Homecoming 24 Grand Parade - Unite, Celebrate, Inspire: Igniting the Pelican Spirit

The observation of Mona Homecoming Celebrations (formerly, Commemoration Celebrations and Alumni Week) began in 2001 and provides an opportunity to celebrate the founding of the University and recognize its regional nature, while assisting to engender a greater sense of belonging and develop a feeling of camaraderie among staff, students and graduates. This year, as the University of the West Indies celebrates its 76th Anniversary, the Mona Homecoming celebrations are more meaningful than ever before.

The Homecoming Parade for the University of the West Indies (UWI) will be a vibrant celebration of the UWI spirit, culture, and achievements. The theme, "Unite, Celebrate, Inspire: Igniting the Pelican Spirit," aims to bring together students, alumni, faculty, and the wider community to commemorate the rich history, academic excellence, and diverse achievements of the UWI.

The Parade will wind its way through the campus, showcasing various aspects of UWI's identity and highlighting the achievements and contributions of its students and alumni. Starting at the Students’ Union, the Parade will pass through iconic landmarks and academic buildings, culminating in a grand finale at the Students’ Union.
