Vice-Chancellor Beckles addresses the UN General Assembly

On March 25, 2024 at 9:00 am (Jamaica),10:00 a.m. (Eastern Caribbean/AST), the United Nations General Assembly will hold a meeting in the General Assembly Hall in New York to commemorate the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) and Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Commission on Reparation and Social Justice is the keynote speaker.

Other speakers include President of the General Assembly and UWI alum, His Excellency Dennis Francis, and Yolanda Renee King, author and granddaughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
