The UWI Mona re-opens following the passage of Hurricane Beryl

The University of the West Indies, Mona (The UWI) wishes to inform the public that the campus has resumed normal operations as of Friday, July 5, 2024, at 8:30 am.
Hurricane Beryl prompted precautionary measures and campus closure on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Following the discontinuation of the hurricane warning by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), and based on our own preliminary assessment, UWI Mona has deemed it safe to reopen for normal operations.
While the campus is operational, it is important to note that some roads leading to the campus are currently blocked due to debris from the hurricane. The University advises all staff, students and members of the public to stay updated on road conditions through the National Works Agency (NWA) as you plan your commute to the campus.
