Dear Members of The UWI Mona Community,

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) in collaboration with the Open Society University Network (OSUN) recently hosted a webinar on the Caribbean’s need for climate justice. The virtual engagement held on March 30 was part of Open Society’s Global Teach-In series.

Noel is a current UWI Mona student in the Faculty of Science and Technology. As a first year student – he has achieved straight As in the first semester of studies at The UWI, while maintaining his passion for the long-distance races and commitment to strengthening his output at the 5000M.

The following statement is issued by Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies, on the passing of His Excellency Ambassador Vance W. Amory former Premier of Nevis and Government Minister in St. Kitts and Nevis, and alumnus of The UWI.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have been ‘walking the talk’ on several blue economy-related initiatives since the two entities joined forces in 2019 to drive climate change solutions for the Caribbean.
